Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Hook My Day collects through Hook My Day, why, and what choices you have. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other Indian laws that apply.
What we collect
- Hosts: name, email address, phone number, password (stored encrypted), time zone, profile details, billing details and GST number if given.
- Clients who book: name, email address, phone number if asked, answers to booking questions, and the booking time.
- Connected calendars: if a host connects a calendar, we read busy times and add bookings to it. We do not read the content of other events beyond what is needed to block busy times.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and log records, used to keep the service secure.
Why we use it
- To run your account, take and manage bookings, and send confirmations and reminders.
- To process subscription payments and issue invoices.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- The host you book with sees the details you enter when booking.
- Service providers that help us run Hook My Day: hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Razorpay), and message delivery for reminders. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Hosts and their clients
For client data that a host collects through their booking page, the host decides how it is used. We process it on the host's behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep data while the account is active. After an account is closed we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, except records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to our support team. We reply within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, passwords and payment keys are stored encrypted, and access is limited to people who need it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings.
